More than 2.630 patents in 190 countries

02/25/2022

Present on five continents, Crystal Lagoons has been awarded worldwide for the sustainable and transformative value of its technology cities, which seeks to integrate quality of life and care for the environment. Today, the company holds more than 2,630 patents in 190 countries.

PAL™ developments contribute to the reduction of transport to coastal destinations and natural beaches, which, globally, totals around 35 million tons of CO2 per year, mainly from car and plane travel. In urban terms, the Public Access Lagoons™ stand out for how disruptive it is to bring beach life to cities, just as it happened 200 years ago in England, when a piece of the forest was introduced to London and urban parks were created

This pioneering technology developed by Fernando Fischmann, biochemist and founder of Crystal Lagoons, allows the construction and maintenance of crystalline lagoons of unlimited sizes at a very low cost, by having low water consumption and using a minimum amount of additives and energy. In effect, they use 30 times less water than a golf course and 50% less water than a park of the same size. The disinfection pulse system allows up to 100 times less chemicals to be used than conventional swimming pool or drinking water treatment technologies, while the ultrasonic filtration system means that the lagoons use only 2% of the energy of conventional treatment systems pool filtration.

Regardless of the size of these bodies of water, the  crystalline lagoons are only filled once and then operate in a closed circuit. They capture water in the rainy months, compensating for the natural loss by evaporation and in the dry months, consumption is only to compensate for said evaporation. Additionally, the crystalline lagoons can work based on sea water, fresh water or brackish water, depending on their availability.
