Crystal Lagoons “Next Level” Water Amenities

04/20/2020

According to Vacation Idea, an international travel and tourism website, many resorts around the world have taken swimming pools to the “next level”, by offering man-made water features recreating beachfront experiences and elaborate rooftop pools providing spectacular skyline views. In its recent ranking, five of Crystal Lagoons® amenities have been mentioned, classifying some of the Miami-based multinational water innovation firm’s most emblematic lagoons. The following are just two of the company’s lagoons mentioned, which also happen to be the world’s largest, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

#1 Citystars Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt)

As of 2015, Citystars Sharm El Sheikh is the official Guinness World Record holder for the largest manmade crystalline lagoon. Spanning over a total of 30 acres, white sand beaches surround the seawater, crystalline lagoon, which offers opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and sailing. The lagoon is part of a renowned Sharm El Sheikh resort. Located in the Sinai desert, one of the world’s driest, the firm founded by Fernando Fischmann uses unique, patented sustainable technology.

#2 San Alfonso del Mar (Chile)

San Alfonso del Mar is a private residential resort within the Chilean city of Algarrobo, which is located approximately an hour from the nation’s capital city of Santiago. Biochemist turned businessman, Fernando Fischmann, who developed the concept and technology behind Crystal Lagoons, San Alfonso del Mar was the Guinness World Record holder, prior to its Egyptian counterpart. It covers a distance of 20 acres and allows residents to enjoy swimming and other water sports in a safe environment, as the nearby sea is renowned for its dangerous water current.

The article also highlights a series of other Crystal Lagoons projects, namely Mahasamutr in Thailand, and Las Brisas and Laguna Bahia, both in Chile.

In the last few years, Crystal Lagoons has experienced exponential growth and has been involved in over 600 projects in more than 60 countries, including United States, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Oman, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Spain, France, Austria, Brazil, and Chile.
