11/16/2020
Following the success of the Alcazaba Lagoon complex in Malaga, Spain, the water innovation multinational that develops crystalline lagoons, Crystal Lagoons® is moving forward with its next development in the country. Known as Alovera, on the outskirts of Madrid, the firm is revolutionizing the country with its new business model, Public Access Lagoons™, also known as PAL™. The lagoon will span 6 acres.
Alovera is an innovative concept that will transform the municipality of Alovera, positioning it on the European map thanks to its technology, innovation and sustainability, and as a unique destination in terms of outdoor water sports. Once operational, the public will access the water amenity upon payment of a ticket.
The multinational, which boasts more than 600 projects in different phases worldwide, plans to develop a total of 25 PAL in Spain, in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Malaga, Murcia, to name a few.
Less than 30 km from the center of Madrid, it will be Europe’s largest man-made beach and will incorporate a crystalline lagoon surrounded by white sand beaches along with spaces for exhibitions, unveilings, food-halls, weddings, as well as concerts on multiple set-ups with beaches, terraces, which can be covered by domes, as well as restaurants, retail and amphitheaters.
The business of the future
“Spanish investors have recognized that as these amenities are built, they quickly generate pyramidal financing. Hence, even with a low initial investment, a company with a very high present value is achieved,” explains Francisco Matte, Crystal Lagoons Regional Director.
“PAL are a robust proposition and Crystal Lagoons is choosing the best partners around the world,” concludes Matte.
