Leander City, Texas, Reveals 4-acre Amenity by Crystal Lagoons® to Anchor $1B Mixed-Use Development
10/16/2020A pure, turquoise lagoon spanning 4 acres and tropical beaches are in the pipeline for Leander, Texas. As part of a potentially $1 billion development, Leander city officials announced a 78-acre planned development, to be known as Leander Springs, is to be anchored by a crystalline lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons U.S. Corp.® technology.
Miami-based Crystal Lagoons U.S. Corp. already has other operational lagoons in Texas such as Windsong Ranch, and Balmoral and Lago Mar in the Houston and Dallas areas, yet this development will be a first for Central Texas. All have been tremendously successful, with each project seeing price in homes increasing once the lagoons were inaugurated.
Although still in early stages, design plans indicate the lagoon will be surrounded by a hotel and conference center, and up to 1,600 multifamily units.
“This dynamic mixed-use development is a game changer for our community,” Leander Mayor Troy Hill said in a statement. “Leander Springs has a phased approach that will bring in much needed commercial development at the beginning of the project while incorporating residential uses in a proportional manner.”
10 acres of boardwalk will surround the Leander Springs lagoon, which will function as Public Access Lagoon™, also known as PAL™. A business model created by the multinational innovation firm, this will grant the general public access to the lagoon via ticketed-entry. Residents will receive discounts on general admission prices, and enjoy private-access points to beaches reserved exclusively for property residents and hotel guests. Residents will have water sports and idyllic beaches on their doorsteps, year-round.
World’s top amenity
Crystal Lagoons has seen continuous success in Texas, catapulting it into a priority market for the firm. Balmoral, the company’s first crystalline water amenity, developed together with Land Tejas, was inaugurated in 2018 and has seen sustained sales success, and led to other projects such as Lago Mar, in Texas City, which is the state’s largest at 12 acres. Year after year, these developments have consistently ranked as the nation’s top selling, transforming these lagoons into the world’s top amenity.
