Largest project of Crystal Lagoons® is located in Egypt
08/11/2021As the world’s largest lagoon with 12.5 hectares, this is how the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh complex in Egypt is promoted to tourists from Germany.
The portal Aegypten.de, focused on the German market, highlights the Crystal Lagoons® technology that allows the creation of lagoons of unlimited size of turquoise waters, at a low cost of construction and maintenance.
It should be noted that this lagoon is already finished, although the resort is still under construction and will have 30,000 residential units, hotels, golf courses, marinas, a museum and a shopping center; and that this project won the World Guinness Record in 2015 for the largest artificial lagoon in the world.
With an investment of US$ 5.5 billion, the project was only possible thanks to the technology of Crystal Lagoons® that, taking saline water from underground layers of the desert that has no alternative use, and incorporating it into undeveloped desert lands, gave rise to creating real estate value.
The project is the result of the association of Crystal Lagoons® with the Sharbatly family, one of the oldest and most prominent families in the Middle East and Africa, which has played an important role in the economic development of Saudi Arabia. Currently, the family owns the AlNahla holding that groups together important companies in the financial, real estate, automotive and telecommunications sectors.
In fact, in addition to Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco and Angola are some of the countries in Africa where the multinational water innovation company has real estate projects and Public Access Lagoons™, also known as PAL™, in different stages of planning, design, construction or operation.
